This image was taken against a black backdrop in a dark room. Three Alien Bee lights were used (1 AB1600 and 2 AB800s) with pocket wizards. A 50 mm macro lens was used on a Canon 70D and the camera settings were f20, ISO 500, 1/1250 secs. I used a spoon to drop milk drops and fired the camera with a remote to catch the resulting splash and the desired effect. Before pocket wizards, this would have been difficult for me without being able to use the hypersycnch feature pocket wizards provide.
